Yeah that’ll work just fine. You don’t need super ultra good gear to fish, what really matters is that your lure/bait is in the water and you can reel it in.
Things that add expense are light weight so you don’t get tired of casting, better rod guides that won’t wear your braid out, etc.
This will be perfect for what you want. I use a cheaper rod and reel, I don’t see how a more expensive one would help me catch more fish.
