If you guys are like me and prefer plugging over chunking then you’re probably looking for a solid surf bag. The biggest issue I found is most of the bags out there today have those stupid squared off tubes instead of circular ones. Over the course of the last 5-6 season I have discovered that I absolutely despise the squared off tubes with a passion! I’ve never had more plugs get caught in the corners of the tube and become damn near impossible to get them out!

So I went around and started looking at custom bags because the traditional companies are really only making bags with the squares (vomit!), and godddd damn did I discover that custom bags are stupidly expensive, like $300-$400 kind of expensive! I started looking online and found this company called Fish Lab that makes surf bags, and man I could not be happier with my purchase! 3 large tubes, plus an extra tube on the side pocket, on the other side there is a large enough pocket to keep my little tackle box, and a front detachable pouch where I keep teasers and other light lures that would probably get lost if I kept them in the big pocket.

I felt the need to let yall know because they make a hell of a bag that has everything I’m looking for, all for $120. Which was a much better price than what ever else I was looking at. If you’re a serious plugger like me, this is a damn good bag to add to your arsenal… hell to carry your arsenal. I bought it last September for the fall run and the bag has been able to carry my larger 6-9 inch plugs and 2-4 oz bucktails, along with soft plastics, a spool of mono and a lot more. I really can’t recommend this bag enough.

  1. As someone that’s new to surf fishing but fly fishing for a long time. The salt gear bags are awful. I’ve been looking at similar plug bags, but that’s all it’ll hold. So I found a Plano box that’ll hold my gear and getting a fly fishing sling pack, Simms or orvis. Waterproof and plenty of storage and best yet it don’t resemble a tackle box.
