Will this Diawa sweep fire 400 work with a 10foot medium heavy squadron iii for surf fishing?

Looking to get into surf fishing and I was wondering if this reel paired with a squadron iii 10 foot medium heavy rod would work. I’m going to be targeting bluefish, striper, and fluke.
