Got skunked, but caught 4 catfish!

I saw the coolest darn thing today on the Connecticut River! After becoming captivated by a young water snake swimming to shore, I noticed a bunch of little squirmy guys. Thought they were tadpoles at first…upon closer inspection…I realized they were catfish fry. A WHOLE bunch of them!! I scooped some up to show a guy who seemed interested when he noticed my excited dancing and calling out to my husband “THEY’RE CATFISH, THEY’RE CATFISH!”

Caught 4 of them in one scoop, and after watching them for a bit I put them back in with their sibling. Ive never seen catfish spawn like this. Really freaking awesome!! Does this count as getting skunked?! Technically they were this year’s PB catfish. 🤣
