Hey folks,
I'm based in the Bay Area, and just bought the Fisherman's Life 9' 4" travel rod (https://fishermanslife.net/collections/fishing-rods/products/94-no-excuses-surf-travel-rod-with-tube-medium-heavy-action-3-4oz-to-3oz).
I'm based out in the Bay Area primarily trying to surf fish Stripers, Halibut, and Perch off the beach. I'm new to fishing, do ya'll have any good recommendations for a reel setup?

Budget?
Penn 4500LL …. Make sure you get in the habit of constantly checking the end section is not getting loose on that travel rod. They are infamous for coming loose and taking off with your cast. That the drawback of multi piece rods.
Im in the bay as well and trying to get into surf fishing. I work in sun Mateo and have been planning to start hitting half moon bay in the evenings. Hit me up
