Hello everyone. I’m interested in learning how to fly fish but don’t know how to set up the line lol. It’s a little confusing
The guy has his own conversation hidden in the reel which was a cool find once I took it all apart. I got the rod for 50$
With an 8WT rod. Would the set up be backing, 8Wt line? What size leader should I used with this ? Or can someone just tell me what size to use ? Thanks everyone

I do not think that is an 8 wt rod. Not sure what it is, but going by what is on the reel, it is a 6 wt.
L6F = Line 6 Forward = 6 wt weight forward flyline
April 79! Yeah, that set up is genuine antique. Buy a new 6 wt line, new modern nylon backing and some good tapered leaders.
