Pretty new to fly fishing. Local fly shop picked me out some flies to get me catching some fish, and this was in there. All the others I could identify but not this. Is it a streamer?

It’s a bucktail streamer but maybe a local variation. Not a pattern that I recognize and frankly not super well tied either….which doesn’t matter if it catches fish! Black over red with a little white underwing. Cream yarn with silver mylar tinsel.
