Found this floating in the wash last fall in NJ when I was the only angler on the beach, so I grabbed it and threw it in my surf bag.

I know it’s a needlefish but I was curious of any of you plug experts could tell me what kind. Any thoughts?

It’s a wooden plug, about 9 inches long, with an olive over white paint pattern with red eyes. Idk if it sinks or not. Idk if the curly tail on the back is stock or if it’s the previous owners addition.

I’m getting my gear together for this years fall run and I’m wondering if I should try throwing it.

Can I throw it on my 9ft tica tc2 1/2-3 oz? When does a needlefish out perform a bucktail or a soft plastic or a minnow plug?

Seems like a jerk/crankbait, try slow bit firm strokes with a medium/heavy baitcaster en see what works best
