Please don’t judge, this is temporary I’m going to get a 5 gal tank but my kids and I didn’t want to see him dying alone in his cup at PetSmart.

Betta fix have is tea tree oil it’s not good for weak/sick betta the oil can actually makes it worse by coating their labyrinth causing them to suffocate. And please remove the sponge bob pineapple those are known to leak toxic into the water killing the betta as well. Also the colored gravel… colored gravel leeches out chemicals into the water so you need to be careful with it especially the brand glofish. And the betta food you put in if he’s not eating it within 5 mins you need to remove it Uneaten fish food releases toxic ammonia and nitrite as it decomposes.
As they recover they need clean conditioned water and heat for faster recovery. You can also look up salt bath and buy some catappa almond leaves boil it for 5 mins then let it cool down and drop the leafs into the water with some epsom salt or aquarium salt. Please do your research on how much to put in. Although aquarium and epsom salt is good for betta recovery it can also be deadly if you add to much and also salt bath should always be done in hospital tank not their actual forever tank. Also if your scared to use salt then you can try kanaplex it help cure several fungal, bacterial fish diseases and finrot which your betta seem to have
And conditioning the water is not enough you need to read up on how to do fish in cycles.

Can you test your water to make sure there is no ammonia? And does your take have a nitrogen cycle? I love these fish and it breaks my heart to see them sitting in cups also. I had no idea how a nitrogen cycle was so important and not having one made me lose so many bettas, so now in a 3 gallon I have started a cycle so when I get a new betta it has a better chance. I also have kanaplex and fin and body cure on hand. Kanaplex is an antibiotic that can help when fish are not doing good. I really hope he perks up now that he is getting a better home. Do you have a water heater? This page has a good guide on how u should set ur tank up. l would get some almond leaves and put them in, it helps with the hardness of water and helps mimic their natural environment, the pet store will have them

Let him acclimate and put in the clean water. Try to put him in a warm place. No bright lights. Hopefully, tomorrow he will eat. Prayers for the sweet boy. The pineapple is fine. He will appreciate a place to hide. Thank you for saving him and raising good-hearted kind children!💙

Do you have an air pump and air stone? If so tuck it in near him so he can get lots of oxygen. Good luck!

Some warm, clean water and some time. Maybe even some even some food who knows how long it’s been since he’s ate 🩷I really hope he gets better

Bettafix and any other products with “fix” in the name do not have any actual medication in them and are essentially tea tree oils which float on the surface and when they come up to the surface for air it will coat their labyrinth organ they need to breathe and suffocate them, please stop using that and throw it out immediately, it’s only gonna make the issue worse and please do not listen to anybody that says otherwise

My better was like this when I got it. I have it in a tank with an air filter as well as a hob filter. Had the water set to 82° and made sure that there was a dead spot in the tank where I placed a hammock close to the surface, to prevent extra effort I also placed blood worms in said hammock the first night. By night two he was big chilling in the hammock and now he traverses the WHOLE tank. I had to spot feed though.

Get rid of the pineapple! I didn’t use it myself, however I’ve heard it leaches chemicals overtime into the tank. Add places to hide- Amazon is great for suction cup tunnels and Little Rock caves, just make sure he won’t get stuck.
