Finally decided to do some microfishing here on Lake Champlain and caught tons of fish, however, my identification skills are not on par. I believe the third fish may be a golden shiner, and maybe a blacknose shiner mixed in there. Let me know what you guys think!

1 looks either Creek Chub or Fall Fish. Both range up there. I’ve never caught Fallfish so I don’t quite know how to ID small ones from a Creek Chub.

    2 should be Common Shiner.

    3 is Golden Shiner.

    4 looks like Bluntnose Minnow.

    Nice catches!

Even though I have thousands of fishing memories, one of my favorites was being like 10 on a dock on Lake Champlain, fishing with worms, and catching so many different species. Really cool lake. Bet it’s awesome for micro fishing.
