I’m part of a cool community of tyers. For a laugh I bought a fly rod on Temu for 20$ it was crap — but I also bought some hooks. They wen’t awful. My friends joked that I was a shill for a Chinese manufacturing concern. Wanna see something crazy? These are absolutely indistinguishable to my eyes (long time subreddit lurker, life long angler, guide, and tyer.) I’ve Not saying anything — premium hook brands are awesome but one of these was 11.25 for 20 and the other was 4.11 for 50. I wouldn’t be surprised if both were made in thr exact same factory.

I apologize if I broke some kind of rule? Can I re-edit this and remove references to Temu? I don’t give a shit about that site, I just thought this was interesting.
Have you fished with them? I’d be curious about the strength of the cheap hooks. Different steels and different tempers can make a massive difference.
Also curious to know how sharp the cheap hooks are. How well do they stick into a finger nail vs the others?
