How do i fix this and prevent it from happening again

Just got my new rod in the mail from black Friday and after spooling it up this was the result. Im new to using braid so I don’t know if there is something I’m missing compared to using mono but i could not get the braid to line up evenly. I also know that having too much space between the top of the line and the spool makes casting worse so I’m wondering if its necessary to re-spool it and how i can prevent this in the future.
