I’ve been flyfishing for 5 or 6 years and never consider a euro nymph setup. Last winter was my first winter ever flyfishing and I tried to copy some techniques with my 4# 9’ Echo Lift and had decent success. Everyone I talk to that seems to have the most luck at my local river euro nymphs.
I just found out for Xmas that I am getting an Orvis Clearwater 3# euro nymph rig that includes the reel and line. https://www.orvis.com/product/clearwater-fly-rod-outfit/3ASN.html

What should I order ahead of time to have here for when my rod arrives? Do I just tie my usual stuff on and go? I’ve wanted to give it a try for a while now but now that I’m looking, it seems I’m basically using what I had last season when I was copying the technique but I was just using a really long leader. Going to YouTube some stuff this weekend but really excited so figured I’d ask to be pointed in the right direction first.
