Has anyone tried these as a sighter for tightline nymphing? They’re short pieces of neon yarn you tie onto line for strike detection. The knot is similar to an overhand knot so they’re adjustable for depth. You’d tie 3-4 markers onto the line and trim them, but hold them above the water so it shows how you’re drifting your fly and shows strikes.

I use them for my keiryu rods but it seems it’d potentially be cheaper than sighter material. I paid $10 for 50 pre-cut pieces, roughly 16 rigs worth of yarn. When I’ve used yarn markers in the past they don’t seem to spook fish either – a few have leaped out of the water to attack the lowest one, actually.
