I've been running my 6" auger with the basic rigid drill for years. It struggles with thicker ice, but worked. It finally died and I bought the highest end rigid drill. With 1250inlb of torque I thought it would be fine. But it wouldn't turn at all. I bought from a 3rd party seller… I wondering if the drill is defective or if I'm just asking too much for a $150 drill.
Anyone else use the set up? I'm returning the drill, should I try again with a drill bought directly from home depot?

What batteries are you using?
And what auger bit?
What batteries are you using? I bought a similar ridgid drill and was disappointed when it had difficulty. Turns out the batteries have overload protection if too many amps are being drawn. A smaller battery (1.5 or 2 amp/h) can’t handle that kind of draw. I needed a 4 amp/h at minimum
