Just caught a nice carp, 40cm ish long, maybe 50. I just bought this rod and reel and tackle box, maybe 100 pounds all in. I'm in Australia at the moment near a lake with a lot of carp and lo g neck turtles. I don't know if this is a good catch or what because this is my first fish, of any kind, ever.

Nice first fish. Get an unhooking mat to put it on and not the concrete, bro. You will damage it, and you won’t be able to catch it again in ten years when it will be three times the size. 😀
You need to learn to look after the fish you catch better. Putting them on concrete with no mat is really damaging to them.
Never treat any fish this way. To lay it on such a hard surface is a massive no. If the fish was to start freaking out the damage it could do to itself could be serious . Use an unhooking mat. And return it unharmed ASAP. Just some friendly advice fella, congrats on your first fish.
