I was looking for some tips on finding panfish(bluegill,crappie) ehile ice fishing on a lake new to me in central mn. I've been out on this lake numerous times and have only caught baby perch. It's very discouraging after being excited seeing all the pings on the vexilar. Especially after walking alone across the lake to 4 different spots drilling 6 to 12 holes in each spot…
I really just wanted to find a decent spot to catch fish with my dad or brother because they will not help me search spot to spot like I feel is nesseccary to locate fish. They just want to drill 2 holes and set up camp.

Try deeper. 6-15 feet. Points are great and flats relating to points and humps too.
