Hi i have this old hand auger than I was able to separate the handle from the auger and I'm left with this threaded rod and I'm looking for the best way to attach an adapter to run an electric drill.
I haven't seen a drill adapter that will thread on.

If you’re never going to use it as a hand auger again maybe grind the threads down to match the flats of the hexagon part and attach to your chuck on the drill
Buy a strike master laser hand auger off of Facebook for like 20 bucks and use that. It would be cheaper than modifying that. If you must use that auger maybe bring the threads down flat like a pentagon and put it in the chuck of your drill. I strongly suggest getting a different hand auger though.
I’d be a whole lot more worried about the blades. As mentioned already the only thing you could do is grind the threaded part into a hex shape. You’d be far better off just buying a basic hand auger, this looks like you’ll be wasting a bunch of time on something that probably won’t work anyway.
There were people who made a variety of adapter and sold them online. I haven’t looked in years. So no idea what’s out there anymore for older stuff. Looking at $15-30 if they exist and have one for your auger. Some were on the ice forums too. So you’d just find an email or if they are still active on the one ice fishing forums.
My other options if you don’t have the tools or a buddy with a home machine shop you will spend more than just buying an auger on clearance that’s made for a drill. Or buying a used one off market place from someone who needs cash fast.
