First off all…yeah, I fucked up. I usually put electrical tape over the terminals of my batteries for transport. For some reason (possibly cannabis related) I failed to do so this time.
So I had three full cans of propane in the trunk of my side-by-side along with my fish finder and spare battery. Shit was bouncing around in there I guess, and at some point one of the tanks shorted the battery terminals.
It's more than a little disconcerting that about two feet in front of me…a full can of propane (next to two more full cans of propane) was short circuit arcing a fully charged battery. I wonder how close to an explosion it came.
Don't be me. Keep your battery terminals covered.
