I think it’s some type of fungus or virus. Please help. I’m treating him with aquarium salt. He’s in a 3 gallon hospital tank with one big almond leave some floating plastic leaves and I added two teaspoons of aquarium salt. I dissolved it in water prior.

I’ve seen wounds like this before. I both assumed it was ulcers and been told so. It doesn’t seem like it’s healing at all by itself at this moment.

A quick googling, say bacterial/virus/fungi/stress as cause.

I have not treated this before, nor have i any experience in this, and i could be totally wrong. But anything antibacterial is what i would start with just so it doesn’t get a bacterial infection as well, just like you already have done with the salt and leaf.

Did he have a problem swimming? Do you have snails and/or planaria in your tank that could have been attacking him if he couldn’t swim away?

I’d boil the leaves to get the tannins out faster, he’s going to need it.
