Hopefully this is allowed here – I know how territorial we can be, so apologies if this rubs anyone the wrong way 😂
I have a friend who wants to come ice fishing with me next weekend – I live south of Minneapolis by an hour or so, and haven't had much luck down here this year. We want to head towards Mille Lacs or Duluth, would like to shoot for walleye and/or crappie.
I want him to catch some fish – he doesn't get much time away from his family and job, and I want to make it fun for him. Does anyone have any tips on what lakes are pretty safe bets? Not asking for someone to sell out their spot, but if anyone has good advice for mille lacs or another lake in the area I'd love to hear.

Mille Lacs is a pretty safe bet. Go out through one of the resorts and they’ll give you some solid advice. Go through a resort even if you’re using your own gear. They charge a few bucks but they keep the roads and ice maintained.
