Really on a tight budget this year but need a new ice auger to get back out in the ice. Would love to stay electric if I can. Has anyone used this from Harbor Freight? Or does anyone know if this would work in a pinch??

If you have a drill just buy a cheaper auger off marketplace and the drill adapter. If you don’t then I’d just run a hand auger till you can.

You would also need batteries… at that point you would be better just buying a used gas auger.

It’s not geared properly for ice auger application. Rpm too fast and torque too low.
