I bought fish for the first time yesterday and put them in my 10 gallon tank. I bought three tetras and a honey gourami. This morning one of my tetras got sucked into the filter and died and these eggs and white strings appeared on a plant. I turned down the filter power to prevent another death. What are the eggs?? I have them suspended and was going to put them in a different container.

Fist off never keep tetras in groups under 7, second you meed real plants in your tank; plastic is poison and will do no good for your fish, lastly if the gourami is floating around the eggs I assume they must be its own? Not super sure on that part tho.

I I were you I would get some more tetras and look at replacing the fake gravel you have for an aquatic soil (plant substrate) and purchasing real plants
