Got a trip tomorrow, last week decided I’d get a new jigging rod, a 28” St Croix. The package arrived yesterday, the rod helpfully pre-snapped in half; the package itself was 4ft long of paper thin cardboard and the rod itself was wrapped in literally nothing.

Customer service basically told me to get lost.

Begging people: let’s end this bullshit. We don’t need an Amazon for fishing. Shop local and don’t allow this kind of nonsense to become the norm as it already has.

  1. Yes shop local. Always. Pricing really isn’t any better and you’re not gonna have a better experience at bass pro.

Also, chargeback. And for those reading always use a credit card online always.

  2. I swore off Bass Pro decades ago. They always took forever to ship and they had nothing I couldn’t get somewhere else.

Then they bought Cabela’s and ruined them too.

If a package looks damaged just send it back. Don’t open it because you loose that protection as a customer.

  4. That’s really shitty have had crushed boxes and broken rods from tackle warehouse but they were quick to rectify the situation after some photos.
