I also have a mh Slx a rod but it seems to heavy and can’t really feel much ..

Depends what you’re fishing for. This setup will do anything bass and similar size. Can it handle salmon? Probably not. But if you aren’t near salmon fishing that’s nothing to worry about. These questions don’t mean anything without context.
I like to take the plastic off of my rods.
Is that a new version of vanford ? Mine has red on the spool…
The medium heavy is for bass
