I’m headed to cannon beach for a birthday trip in a couple days and was going to try my best with some surf casting for steelhead, but was wondering if anyone had tips on where to go? I am brining my fiberglass 6wt for some streamers and what not and have a floating line and a sinking stillwater series on another spool. Anyone have opinions on this estuary? Any information is helpful, I’d love to hook a fish but don’t want to have to venture too far. Only in town for a day and want to make the most of it. Thanks

I’ve never heard of surf casting for steelhead, and wouldn’t have thought to do it here. But I’m curious.
