I use my old marcum M1 and the last few nights I have had what seems to be a permanent mark on it around 19ft. The crappies in my area have been suspended so I have trusted it was true for awhile but it doesn’t seem to go away. I know all the ins and outs with air bubbles, bait fish, etc when using flashers but it’s been so steady last few days I have started to disregard it. Everything else with this flasher is accurate and it still reads fish and depth. Disclaimer; I have been working the same spot since I’ve noticed this. I know the lake well and do not know of anything that would cause this short of my transducer going bad, even then I’m not certain that’s a problem since it still reads bottom and fish perfectly fine.. Any advice is appreciated!

Tree?
Sometimes you can get a mark from the thermocline. The water temp changes enough to reflect just a little bit of the signal. You might be able to adjust the sensitivity until it disappears, but also, see if you still get it shallower or on a different body of water.
