I was given this beautiful boy last week after a friend who sells fish said no one wanted a betta she had so I took him in and named him Bluey, as you can see he had a good chunk of his fin missing I’ve owned about 5 betta fish and never had a tail breakage issue I don’t see any signs of fin rot, what do I do? (Also anyone know what breed he is? ty!)

i would say just treat it as you would treat fin rot. i used kanaplex and stress guard for my betta when i noticed some rips in his fins and that seemed to fix to it.
also, is your betta green?? i dont think ive ever seen a betta that color green, hes beautiful!

Woah it almost looks like he’s got a partial plakat tail because of where it ends and how clean of a tear it is. It should start growing back on its own in good water parameters, but if it stays short please update us?? He’s gorgeous btw
Hey ! I’ve regrown entire betta tails and if you’d like extra help feel free to reach out to my instagram bettarehabilitation. This does not look infected so you won’t need kanaplex (good to have on hand in case you notice an infection occur tho) I highly recommend a heavy heavy dose of catappa leaves. I also recommend feeding fluval bug bites, and if you can find frozen mysis shrimp or dapnia these are all great foods for regrowth! Give him a water change every three days for a couple weeks. You’ll see his tail regrow and decrease treatment!
