How’re you tying them? I’ll alternate between a true bead head or tying the bead as the thorax (pic 3), then making a red head, which fish love to eat.

Half and half. Usually a bead head with a smaller, non-beaded dropper.

I prefer beadheads for my top fly so I don’t have to use split shot. Bottom fly it varies. I just tie all pts with beads out of habit.
