I have one if these and it's whack. Drops hella slow and if you back off the knob it back lashes and line gets behind the spool. Yes I know how to use it, and it still kinda sucks. Especially in the wind and the cold. I also hate line twist so I'm not interested in going back to a spinning rig. Curious is there are some better options for inline drop reels that isn't cheap plastic and won't back lash. Even better if it doesn't have silent drag. I like to hear it when drags getting pulled out. Let me know what you guys are running.
Thanks

Definitely not meant to be used in the wind though
I’ve tried three different ones and never had luck with the inlines on the ice. Could never get the drop adjustment right and the drag sucked compared to my spinning reels.
13 fishing sucks
I have two of those. One works flawlessly while the other is very temperamental.
The best I’ve found is pacifun carbon ice. I have the 13 black Betty and prefer the pacifun. The drag is better and drops the bait smoother without snarls but is still a bit slow dropping.
