Attached my anchor trolley today. Watched videos and all. Thought i did good then when i put the line on no matter how tight or loose i made it, the pullys will flip over so my anchor attachment point is not n top and my pully line is under.

Sort of solved by putting bungies in the pad eyes, but now when they are tight the pully ends up 12 inches from bow/stern

What did i mess up/is this an issue and if so how do i fix it?

  1. I would attach the carabiner’s to your metal pad eyes at each end. Then I would add the shock cord to coming off the o-ring.

What video did you mainly use? I’m not sure I’ve seen this configuration before.

It looks like the guide in the first picture is too low, meaning the non attachment point side of the rope will want to be low, resulting in the flip you see. Not sure if the pulley lock is contributing to the issue but I wonder if having the guides in line with the lock would help.

I would ditch the bungees since you want every inch of trolley you can get but that’s my opinion. Try it out and see.

Also remember that the loop on the trolley is for running your anchor line through, it’s not for attaching to. I have a cleat on my gear track that I tie the anchor line off to and then I use the trolley loop to control where it comes off my kayak.

My trolley line comes away by about 6-12″ as well and it’s a non issue. the biggest issue with both of our setups is that they don’t go all the way fore and aft, which limits the effectiveness of the trolley. That being said, it’s still way safer than no trolley.
