Trying to decide which to go with and wanted to hear what might be pros/cons of each. I currently own the Garmin Echomap UHD 9sv with GT54 transducer but got a new kayak that came with a Lowrance Elite FS9 with 3n1 transducer. What are people’s experiences with these and which might be better for kayak fishing?
What I’ve noticed so far after 1 day using the Lowrance:
* Garmin felt easier to navigate the UI
* Lowrance down scan seemed to actually highlight fish, making it easier to distinguish fish from submerged cover.
Also I have had a Navionics subscription for a couple years so I have a bunch of points added to my Garmin maps. I also use QuickDraw on the Garmin quite a bit. Not sure how saved points or quick draw maps can transfer between these brands/units.
