Betta Fish: After stalking this sub for months, finally saw a betta worth pulling the trigger for yesterday!

• Parameters fine

• Heater at 82F

• 5.5 gallon tank w/ lid; half the substrate will be going to a shrimp tank I'm making for my son's birthday in June

• Put half of the bio beads from my current tank into the new filter, rinsed out the current tank's filter sponge in the new tank

• Water is conditioned

• Have an amano in there and a single experimental cherry shrimp to see if he can have tank mates. Been a day but so far, so good

… I admit, I was all excited to aquascaped properly, glued ferns and moss onto three wood pieces, wedged them into substrate…

… And forgot that wood fucking floats unless you boil it. 🤦

Fixed now, but damn I still feel dumb 🤣
