Most of the streams near me in southern MI are stocked with few having the chance to have wild trout and spawning, i have caught 3 browns myself all having intact fins including a full adipose fin, from research this tells me they are wild, i just want others opinions as im new to trout fishing, the 2 streams ive caught my trout from are class 2 and 1, both having good spawning, and getting occasinally stocked from what ive read. Bur what baffles me is the class 3 stream near my house is said to only get planted trout and stocked, but the ones my buddy has caught have both had intact adipose fins both a bow and a brown, the bow being 5 inches and brown being 7 to 8. Im just curious if anyone knows!.

Tagging to come back and check for answer too.
I fish the Platte mostly as it’s the closest despite not having many big fish… I fish both down and upriver from the hatchery and honestly don’t think I’ve ever caught a brook brown or bow with a clipped fin. I’ve wondered myself if Michigan stocks are even clipped for a while.
They don’t clip adipose fins for brown trout in Michigan.
