Now that spring trout season is in full swing I wanted to share some info on the (newer) Mepps XD series spinners. Absolutely must try these out. I noticed a 5 to 1 strike / catch ratio vs other spinners this past weekend. The water in the streams by me is a little higher than usual due to rain and these XD (extra deep) spinners got a lot deeper which worked out so well. Anyone else try these out?

I’ve had good success with the Mepps XD. I’ve caught nice trout and bass on them. They’re basically like a Panther Martin, but better made and with brass bodies rather than lead. I just wish that Mepps made sizes larger than a 1/4 oz.
