So, i am doubting between two yaks, i've seen a 10 ft kayak, and a 9.2 feet kayak. I will use it on lakes, fjords, canals and coastal waters (all of which are pretty calm)

I will travel between Netherlands and Norway twice a year with the yak on my roof (we don't have the trucks here, think more of honda civic/prius size cars) so, a lot of kilometers.

While fishing, i don't take too much gear with me, a net, 2 rods, knife and some other pretty small stuff.

What would be the better size? reason of doubt: i want a compact kayak, just not too small… Neither too big (12 feet, don't need that)

Any tips, opinions and anything in between is welcome! 😀

Here's a link for the two i am eyeing: (i know, re-branded stuff, but they are just fine, sturdy ass hell, we don't have a ton of nicer kayaks in the Netherlands, and hobie imo is just to9 heavy for what i want)

You’ll want a 12 ft, especially for coastal water, even if it is “calm”. You have no problem cartop a 12 ft and it will give you much better performance in coastal water, especially given your height.
