Flying to Puerto Vallarta Mexico in a couple days and I need help shedding gear and weight. What needs to be cut?
FYI: Rod is a Santiam 4pc 9’ travel surf rod. 1-3oz. Reel is a Daiwa BG4000 spooled with 30lb power pro.

Cut the amount of lead you’re bringing in half, that’s like a 2 week supply of daily fishing. Get a light weight tape measure, those metal ones are heavy. Could also save weight getting pliers with a line cutter built in, instead of having 2 different tools.
