Saw this while at a local fish shop, looks like this betta is turning into a walker lol, is this some kind of infection or just born like that ?

It’s a neon betta, they glow at black light

I think this lil guy is probably just funky! Bettas can have all sorts of colours including weird eyeballs. You should see the breeding places these guys come from.

There’s a solid chance its one of those globettas (or at least a decendant) idk the exact specifics but some people/companies were able to infuse fish with i believe a gene found in jellyfish that makes them glow, also causes them to look like that under normal lighting, here’s another i stole off of pinterest lol
Looks like a GloBetta. Since it looks mainly contained to his head, he’s probably only partially. It’s like glofish, bright light makes them florescent. The GloFish brand doesn’t make them anymore but the genetics are now out there for others to breed, so chances are you’ll occasionally see one looking similar in a store.
Also, if this tank happens to be a female sorority, I’d heavily advise much more plants. Preferably live, so that it will block their view. They will become very stressed if you have them in less than a 20 gallon and a tank that isn’t heavily planted (to block their view to other females)

Probably has some globetta in her family tree! Globettas were genetically modified bettas by the same company that made the glofish tetras and danios

That’s a long lost hybrid of the official GloFish bettas. The rest of the colors lay on top of the glowing layer resulting in only the eyes and some other parts to actually glow.
