Is this depth too much for freshwater pond/lake bass fishing ?

No. Just means it can swim lower. It all comes down to how you work it.

In pond fishing you’ll likely be pulling in weeds pretty frequently, just because the depth always goes to zero feet at the bank. 6’ is not a bad depth, but it might be problematic if 6’ is all the way out in the middle and not near the bank.
