Was gifted an old baitcaster rod/reel combo. This is my first baitcaster, so I know nothing. How do I set this up? A lot of switches and dials…send help! Haha

oooooo that’s cool lookin. Google the make and model first to learn more about it. otherwise follow some YT tutorials. and i’d change out the line if that was gifted along with it.
i first learned on an ancient baitcaster like that i found at my dads house. lined it and tied on a junk jig and learned to cast in my front yard. got pretty decent at that before taking it out to fish and caught a little smallmouth with it on the second or third trip. it’s been relegated to a Heavy punching rod that doesn’t get used much, but i still have it.
