I was tossing a red worm on a drop shot, targeting the various sunfish species we are fortunate to have in abundance around me when I hooked into what I thought was a submerged log. Then the line started going out fast. After cranking down the drag as much as I dare and wrestling this pig under the water, I managed to drag my PB Channel cat up the bank. Using a 7 foot light rod and 6lb braid. I usually run 4lb mono, but have been testing how shy the sunfish are of the thin braid.

What is the largest non-micro fish that has chomped on your micro fishing setups?

Included the red breasted sunfish I pulled out next cast with the same setup, as well as another tiny bluegill

I caught a 22-inch bass while fishing for emerald shiners a few summers ago. 4 days before bass season opened.
