Oscar. You can buy them at Walmart in the aquarium section. They are now an invasive species.

If you live in Florida I’m guessing Oscar. It’s nothing but aquarium fish out there now

No fish is “invasive”. Fish go where their fins take them. This is the glorious Oscar one of the best aquarium fish and a beautiful specimen at that. Any Oscar experts out there can tell us if this guy is spawning?
From what I was told a while back these South and Central American cichlids you catch in Florida are the result of hurricanes overflowing the holding pens that the importers (like Don Conkel) kept them in, plus I’m sure irresponsible fish keepers dump them all the time.

It’s an Oscar (not an aquarium fish it’s a natural hybrid of native and non native species) and that my friend is a large one as well as gorgeous
