I have my only free weekend for a while coming up but we're getting constant rain until then. What do y'all do when the water is really high? Are ponds/lakes the move? Should I hit some blue lines or try to find some slower moving rivers? The fish scaring professional pictured will, unfortunately, not be joining me.

Lazy me tries to nymph or use a squirmy in the deep pools. Then ponds and lakes and blue lining. Blue lining can be awesome but they can be blown out too. Cute dog btw

Fish tail water rivers (controlled release dam upstream).

If water is clear, fish streamers.

If water is muddy, fish large black streamers.

High flows tend to push fish to the bank water. As others have said, you can try arming yourself with split shot to nymph the deep, slower pools but it really all depends on how high it is and where you are located

  4. I purchased a canoe recently. If someone sits in the hull the other can stand easily and fish. It’s so fun on springs that flow into lakes. 4-5 ft deep crystal clear and tooooons of fish
