The same cable broke again, and Pelican wants me to buy the whole pedal drive assembly. Since this cable does not have the special chain ends, I thought I would try fabricating something. I used eye bolts, cut off the excess bolt, used clothesline wire with clothesline wire clips, and then tightened the bolt ends. The clothesline wire is really soft and flexible so it should last for many years. Cost me less than 10 bucks, so if it breaks again I will spend less then $10 bucks again. If anything else breaks on this pedal drive I will cover the hole, and mount a trolling motor in the back, or replace the whole kayak.
