  1. You need to buy at least a 5 gallon aquarium, sponge filter, dechlorinator, air stone, tubing, polyguard, tetra safestart and an air pump.

Read up on how to cycle an aquarium.

While you are cycling your aquarium have the betta in a separate much larger container with an air stone in it. You can observe for illness and if there are any concerns use the polyguard.

If you can swing a larger tank, go for a 10 or 20 gallon, heated with plants. Females swim a lot and enjoy exploring. She’ll be more fun to watch and healthier, too.

This is all very good advice im not gonna add much more information because the first two comments are all the advice you will need for the first 2-3 months, but I heavily advise getting plants
Be aware most floating plants won’t do well in a tank with a lid, and check for snails on your plants before you add them
In fish actual care just look at their behavior and body every day for a few minutes and see if anything looks wrong.
And never be afraid to ask questions

All I can add is please please please make sure to do the nitrogen cycle. I had no idea this was something that needed to be done and all my Bettas ended up passing away and it was really getting to me, but this amazing group helps ppl so much and now I have a great cycle and my beautiful blue is living great.

  5. Hi, congratulations. You have a bit of work to do right away so please watch this video. I don’t go full blown into getting live plants in your tank and what not, but it is great information for a couple of very important things to do right when you get a Betta fish home. Hope it helps and if you have any questions please let me know. https://youtu.be/1oL7gWUzQQg?si=6Q82s95kEHDTFuK-
