Betta Fish: Name? Hubby and I love Japan and so Koi betta fishes. I can’t think of a name of our new buddy, any help? One of his eyes look like he is wearing eyeshadow (not sure if that helps) thank you

With the main discernable colorings being Red/Black, he looks like a Kage Hi Utsuri Koi, wich may change over time, it is possible that he changes colors and looks different in a while.
Kage means shadow, Hi refers to fire and Utsuri means refection, shade or change (depending on context).

Since you like Japan, maybe consider the name Utsuri (移り), as it’s the shortened way people refer to when speaking about the Koi i mentioned, as well as a nod to the colorshifting nature of Marble-Gened Betta.
Oh and remember to take a lot of pictures to compare his colors at different times in his life, you’ll be surprised how much they can change without you noticing as the shifts happen very slowly! ^^
