Need criticism. Why did I miss this bit? What did I do wrong?
Using a luckycraft with Battlestar size 3 hooks. No hooks were bent. What should I have done to get a better hookset?

You needed to do a very violent and upward motion right when you feel the bite to get a successful hook set. This is the way

Not saying this is the reason, but if you sharpen your hooks regularly you will absolutely catch more fish.
Sometimes you just miss ’em.

Could be a smaller fish and just missed the hooks all together.
Or maybe the line was too slack when you set the hook

Let the fish run away with the bait a little longer then soon as it’s starts to peel drag start to reel the hook sets itself. I used to think the violent up whip was necessary it’s not. For the most part all you’re doing is ripping lips doing that.
