Just completed a 30 day Fishless cycle in my 75gal tank. I'm being extremely skeptical and weary due to my uncommon build. I am using a Timberline topsoil rather than an aquatic soil. Since the journey started it's been battling fungus, gas pockets, and ungodly levels of pH. I used an old sponge filter as my bacteria starter, and I lost a lot of anubias plants due to the fungus. Its had 2 water changes during this 30day cycle. I'm still fighting higher than wanting pH levels but tell me what you all think.

pH – 8 / 8.2
Ammonia – 0 ppm
Nitrite – 0 ppm
Nitrate – 5 ppm

My water is extremely hard and I have been using Almond Indian Leaves to help combat pH along with other tannins from the spider wood and timberline soil.

Edit: Apologies on my images, motion images on Samsung phones seem to post as videos on reddit.

Unfortunately, I’m starting I’m the hobby so I wouldn’t know what to tell you, but I really wanted to say that your tank looks gorgeous
