Betta Fish: Any recommendations for easy plants/ better tank?

Mac my betta he’s over a year old now in a 6 gallon. I struggle to keep plants alive but was thinking about getting the aquarium co op easy green and some water weistera since it’s a low light “easy” plant. I’ve been able to keep this Amazon sword plant alive by putting flourish root tabs in it every couple weeks. It doesn’t look the best but it’s alive!!! I do weekly water changes but have been struggling with hair algae. I get overwhelmed easy so if I could have some good easy advice I’d appreciate it thanks everyone!!
