Never thought that good fishing gear really mattered. Always bought bottom barrel budget combos but after finding this sub and piecing together this sub $200 combo, it's like night and day. Now I'm thinking of putting together the same but in an ultralight variant.

Agree. Those Daiwa LTs in a 2500 size are awesome. Super light and comfortable to fish all day, drags are powerful and the frame is plenty strong, smooth for #10 drag and under. Load it up with 10-15# high quality braid and you have a versatile FW and inshore SW outfit.
